Based on the 1972 book by Barbara Robinson, this movie is heartwarming and funny. When the Herdman kids, a rowdy group of siblings known for causing trouble unexpectedly join the church Christmas pageant, everyone expects disaster. Instead, the Herdmans bring new life to the story of Jesus’ birth, surprising everyone with their sincerity and raw, honest reactions and questions. Through the Herdmans’ fresh perspective, the church community—and the audience—get a new view of the true meaning of Christmas.
