In a world where there are so many different messages of what makes a person valuable and worthy, isn’t it incredible to hear the words ‘You are chosen.’ How amazing is it to be able to communicate to our kids that no matter what anyone else may say, they are specifically chosen by God! Getting Ready for the Search:

Chat questions: If you could choose your dream vacation, where would you like to go? Why?

Using paper and markers, have each person draw a “would you rather” question. (Would you rather eat ice cream in winter or hot soup in summer? Would you rather kiss a pig or hug a porcupine? Fun questions like those…) On one side of the page draw one option, and the other on the flipside. Which scenario does each person choose?

Looking for Clues in the Truth:

Look at Luke 5:1-11. What amazing thing happens in the boat? What does Jesus tell his chosen friends they would do from now on? What do Simon Peter, James and John decide to do?

Now look at Ephesians 1:3-5. When did God choose us? I wonder how being chosen makes you feel?

We found it! Time to Celebrate!

Find your pillowcase. This month, write or draw on your pillowcase something that will remind your family member that they are chosen by God.

When you all are done with your art create a family circle and hold the ends of the pillowcases. Have a prayer time sharing with God what you created.

OR

Write a note of blessing to tell each family member that they are chosen by God.

Put them in your shoebox. Pray over your notes, blessing the person you wrote them about and praising God for them!
