Book Review
This book is such a fun way for kids to go through the Bible! Using food in the Bible, authour Vanessa Myers takes kids through an exploration of Scripture in a unique way. I love the way she weaves Scripture teaching in an accessible way for kids as you work through stories of food in the Bible. Each devotion has a ‘Faith-to-Go’ prompt that is a creative, simple way to put a faith response in action based on the devotion. Each devotion is short and accessible, even for young kids. Another fun element I love is a hands on project woven throughout the book of creating your own Food Truck Ministry! By the end of the book kids will have designed a food truck menu, name & logo, Bible verse, Mission Statement, recipe and more as they use their imagination and thoughtfulness into building their own Food Truck ministry!
This is a great devotion for kids to do on their own but I also see great possibilities for creating this into a summer ministry! This would make a great gift to give families for the summer months too, maybe as part of a take home kit. This is written in a way that kids can do this on their own (I would recommend ages 8-12) or families with younger kids could read together.
She has lots of free and low cost family equipping resources. Check out her webpage-Vanessa Meyers-Equipping Families For Their Faith Journey.
