Book Review
This delightful storybook by Jennifer Grant is a wonderful way to have conversation with kids about the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). A young boy asks his Grandma if God is in his city and his Grandma tells him yes, he just needs to know how to look for him. The book goes on to show all the ways the boy discovers where God is by how he sees evidence of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. It ends with a wonderful discovery of the boy that maybe he can can also reveal God by living out the fruit of the spirit.
This book is wonderfully written with beautiful illustrations. I love that it features a family that is comprised of a boy and his grandmother, which both represents there are different family compositions and also the value of grandparents in the faith life of kids.
It is common for kids to wonder what God is like and where He is and this book is a fantastic way for families to have that conversation together. I highly recommend this book.
This book forms the theme for our brand new Takeout Church: March Break edition resource. You can check that out here.
I prepared a video reading of the story for the Takeout Church resource.
