We are on a Bible Trek Expedition as we journey back in time to explore what happens in different towns and places where Jesus was. 

Our first stop is Bethlehem.

Check out this true story in Luke 2:1-6. 

Where were you born?  Were you born at home or in a hospital? Did you arrive quickly or take a long time? What stories do you know about when you were born? 

Jesus was born in Bethlehem.  David also became king there, long before Jesus was born. What do you know about King David?  (You can learn more about this in 2 Samuel 5). 

Jesus was born in Bethlehem in a stable. What do you think was different about Jesus’ time in Bethlehem and David’s time there? 

If you were to visit Bethlehem, I wonder what you would see?  What would you eat?   

Jesus born in a stable, laid in a manger.  I wonder why God chose a place like that for his Son to be born? 

Angels tell Shepherds in a field nearby to go find the Messiah.  How did they know it was him? I wonder what the Shepherds said to Jesus? What did they say to Mary and Joseph? 

What do you think it smelled like in the stable where Jesus was born? What did it sound like? I wonder what objects, animals and people were there? 

Jesus was born as a tiny baby!  How can you serve tiny babies?  Consider donating diapers or formula to a food bank.   

Jesus is/I am:  Say it loud!  Claim it! Jesus is God’s Son. I am God’s child! 

What do you remember about being a baby?  What are some favourite memories of your grown ups of when you were a baby?  I wonder what Mary and Joseph’s favourite memories of baby Jesus would have been?
