On Saturday Novemeber 3, 2018, almost 400 people gathered at the Toronto Children’s Ministry Conference to learn more about reaching kids and families for Jesus.  It was a joyful day of learning, networking and opening hearts to God’s leading with kids and families. It was amazing to have 29 denominations represented on that day!

The day began with worship and a plenary message from Annette Ford. We were challenged to flip our instinctive habit of kids first, then parents, coworkers, ministers and then God. By putting God first, then wisely consulting ministers, coworkers, parents and then kids, we can offer a God-centred ministry model that has us focusing on kids by focusing on God first.  What a wonderful challenge!

Following the plenary time, we then moved to a variety of workshop tracks, that ranged from Theological and Biblical Foundations, Building Children’s Ministry, Culture and Impact, Special Needs, Evangelism and Missions, Curriculum and Developmental Theory, Family Ministry to Paid Staff.  The sessions were interactive and valuable!

This may seem like a little thing, but the lunch was included, and was pretty delicious, too!
