Tanya Yuen
Children and Family Ministry Associate
Rev. Tanya Yuen has served as the Children and Family Ministries Associate for the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ) since 2012. In this role, she oversees various training and resourcing initiatives, helping CBOQ churches draw out the giftedness of children and families in their midst. Tanya brings over 16 years of hands-on experience as an ordained pastor, having ministered in three different churches in downtown Toronto. Her work is marked by a deep commitment to journeying alongside others, empowering them to discover and use their God-given gifts in the service of Children and Family Ministry.
Tanya holds a Bachelor of Religious Education and a Master of Theological Studies from Tyndale and she is a graduate of the Arrow Leadership Program. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctor of Practical Theology at McMaster Divinity College, focusing on children’s spirituality. Her research aims to uncover more effective approaches to engaging children in the life of the church and fostering a deeper life of discipleship.
In addition to her work with CBOQ, Tanya serves as a Global Mentor for the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) Horizons Children’s Ministry Course, a global, online training program. She is the General Manager for the Toronto Children’s Ministry Conference (TCMC), an ecumenical one-day conference designed to “Inspire and Equip” pastors, volunteers, parents, ministry leaders, and others passionate about the spiritual growth of children. Tanya currently serves on the Board of Directors for Scripture Union Canada and is a contributing writer for Kids Corner, a daily blog for kids and parents to engage Scripture.
Tanya is married to Alfred, and together with their three daughters, they live in Oakville, Ontario, where they attend Chartwell Baptist Church.
