Book Review
Glenys Nellist has a fourth book out in the series that uses the lyrical style of Clement Moore’s iconic poem—“’Twas the Night before Christmas”, this time with a 40 Day Lenten Devotion book. Featuring a familiar rhyme that early to middle elementary age kids especially will enjoy, the authour engages readers with the life of Jesus, exploring his ministry leading up to his death and resurrection in a way that invites young and old to draw near to Him in the season of Lent.
The 40 devotions are divided into sections of 10 each under the themes of The Mission of Jesus, The Message of Jesus, The Ministry of Jesus and the The Mystery of Jesus. Each 1 page devotion includes a Scripture verse, a reflection to consider and a prayer response with beautiful illustrations.
Nellist is a creative and engaging writer that brings fresh insights and a gentle, thoughtful approach to engaging this season and in particular the death of Jesus with grace and depth. All ages will appreciate this meaningful guide through this season.
