If you watched the original 1994 animated Lion King then this movie will be very familiar. In this live action remake the story is almost identical, with the addition of a few funny lines and a new song, however it is considerably more violent and dark then the animated original. Younger kids may find this movie too scary. There are great themes for discussion, including the theme of leadership.
