Book Review
The Tiny Truths Illustrated Bible is a brand new bible storybook geared for kids 4 – 8 years, however all ages, including younger then 4 will be delighted by the storytelling and illustrations. And I love that the skin tones of the characters are darker are more likely accurate to the biblical characters! It begins with creation and covers 33 stories (15 Old Testament and 18 New Testament) of Scripture in a way that children get a sense of both individual stories and characters but clearly learn the overall big story of God’s love for his people. Some of the stories are just a short line or two and leave out the ‘gory details’, for example “Joseph was in jail for a crime he didn’t commit”. Some may find the stories seem a bit “watered down” however it is helpful for reading to younger kids and is written in a way that can be built upon in conversation. From the introduction you learn that The Tiny Truths Illustrated Bible will help your children discover:
Who God is––the one who made everything and everyone
Who we are––his children, whom he loves unconditionally
What we were made for––to love God and everyone else
The illustrations are beautiful and engaging, the storytelling is well written. This is a book I recommend adding to your library of bible storybooks for kids!
