In God’s Story

In God’s Story

“But the Spirit gives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.” (Gal. 5:22-23a, ICB)

Our theme focuses on the concept of “We’re becoming”

Last year our theme 1: One God. One Life. was all about deepening our relationship with Christ through the practice of spiritual disciplines. This year we will be exploring the big God story as we discover how God’s story weaves throughout our own stories. As we discover this great, grand narrative we are part of we discover that God gifts us with expressions of who He is through us.

How will we use this theme?

Each month there will be a family faith conversation posted that you can either print and give out to families (or send online link) as well as weekly social media posts. Each month will focus on a different part of the story of God as well as on a different aspect of the gift of the Spirit that we read about in Galatians (often referred to as the fruit of the Spirit). These family faith conversations will begin in October 2021 and will be posted on the first of each month.

In addition to a poster, we have created bookmarks this year! One side features our ‘Spirit’ animals (the animal that we have chosen to correspond with each aspect of the gift of the Holy Spirit) that can be coloured in and the other side is in full colour with our theme image. There is space to punch a hole and add yarn or string or something else to make to it. Both the poster and bookmark is available for you to print on demand below. We are also mailing out professionally printed posters and bookmarks for free to our churches in mid September. If you would like to request a specific number of either the poster or bookmark, please email Tanya.

Follow us on Instagram or this Facebook page for our weekly social media posts and monthly family faith conversation.
